The levity of you
Has frozen vertebrae
From swift movement
We are so far returned
The clouds requited
Respond.
It is in this subtle way
That petals loosen their grip
patios dripping with gentle dew
Falling falling petals
Nothing is sudden
Not the intimacy of
Your voice
Nor the rain that comes
Inevitable and transient
Scorned by the superior and the hive
We are so far returned
Ethereal,
With parchment thirsty
For blood wine dew
Ma’at’s feather against your heart
You must be like petals
You must never be swift
Thrift as the wind that beckons
The lucidity of clouds.
Liquid held in place by
Sound
O so gentle
Impossible to be sudden
Even the spine cracks
To loosen the yellowed leaves
For they are fiercely loved.
